Courtyard by Marriott Newport News Airport

Over all the room is clean. The staff was nice. Was missing soap. The swimming pool and hot tub was amazing. I did not like the cheap grab for the parking fee. There were no indications of what it was being used for or even asked if I had parked. No parking permit no secure parking no nothing. It seemed to be a cheap way for the hotel to grab an extra $4.

I was in town for work with 2 co-workers. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and very accommodating. The smell of cannabis was so strong on our floor 2 of us requested to move. The co-worker ended up changing rooms again due to a toilet that would not stop running. A little maintenance and some enforcement on cannabis smoking/vaping in rooms is recommended, but we have stayed in worse places.

The bed must have been pretty old, I would wake up each morning with my body aching and great full that it was time to get out of the bed. Similarly, all 4 pillows were completely flat, I had to roll them up like towels to get any support. The water in the shower had only two temperatures - all hot water or all cold water - not sure how that is possible but that was my experience. I would not recommend this hotel.

So my husband and i stayed here for a while I wanna say 3 weeks visiting family and i want to say first of all they have terrible customer service and how they speak to the guests. We stayed there longer than most do. And they hardly ever even maintenanced the room. Just because we didn't stay a short visit doesn't mean the cleaning doesnt need to be done. We asked several times for them to clean our restroom and at the very least change the sheets give us fresh linen at least once a week never happened. When we initially got there we were ironing our clothes and their iron ruined my husbands favorite pair of pants and when approached they told us not to have the iron so high refused to replace his pants. Which i can understand but then gave us another broken iron. It wasn't till we went down and complained about the iron leaking did they give us a new working iron. With a lot of sass i may add. We were skeptical to receive packages there because they might go missing. This experience was very uncomfortable. We felt as if though we had to be watching our back while we were staying there and that is not something that we wanted to do because we should feel like this hotel in a state where we were visiting for the first time should be our Haven our peace and it wasn't furthermore we wanted to enjoy the hot tub after a long day of walking with our family and broken time and time again it would get fixed but then it would break again at the heating element in the hot tub was terrible it was just not an experience that I would want to have again in Virginia and I just wanted to let management know that your associates at the front desk were extremely confrontational when we approach them with all of these problems they didn't want us to speak to certain associates they didn't want us to have problems essentially they wanted their jobs to be extremely easy and that is not what it is in hospitality I myself working the customer service industry and I believe that they definitely dropped the ball at this hotel we will never be coming back here again. If I could give them zero Stars I would.
